Terms of use

Last updated November 5, 2026 · Français · Español · Português · 日本語 · 한국어

KnackTack is licensed to you under the standard terms of the store you get it from. This page adds a few points that are specific to KnackTack. KnackTack is developed and provided by WEN YUN NIU ("we," "us," or "our").

1. Your license

KnackTack for Mac is licensed under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. KnackTack for Windows is licensed under the Microsoft Store Standard Application License Terms.

These terms are not a separate license agreement and do not replace the store's standard terms. If anything here differs from them, the store's standard terms apply.

2. What KnackTack is for

KnackTack is a tool for keeping things in view for a short time, so you can compare them. It is not a storage, backup, sync or document tool. If something matters to you, keep a copy elsewhere, for example by sharing the space as a file or pasting it into a document.

3. Spaces expire

  • A space that isn't pinned is deleted 7 days after your last edit. KnackTack shows a reminder on the space a day before.
  • Deleted and expired spaces go to Recently Deleted, which keeps only your most recent ones (5 in the free version, 10 with Pro). Older ones are permanently deleted.
  • Clearing Recently Deleted, or removing KnackTack or its data from your computer, permanently deletes your spaces.
  • Your spaces exist only on your computer. Nobody else has a copy, so a space that has been permanently deleted can't be recovered.

4. Sources and jumping back

KnackTack shows a source only when the app you copy from provides one. Jumping back to the copied text depends on your browser and on the web page, which may have changed or moved, so it may not work every time.

5. Your content

What you put in a space is yours, and it stays on your computer. You are responsible for having the right to copy and use it.

6. Purchases and refunds

KnackTack Pro is sold, and refunds are handled, by the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store under their own terms. Pro is bought separately for Mac and for Windows. See Refunds.

7. Changes, availability and limitations

KnackTack may be updated from time to time, and features may be added, changed or removed.

We don't guarantee that KnackTack will work without errors or interruption, or with every version of macOS or Windows, every browser or every app. In particular, recognizing where a copy came from and jumping back to it depend on information that other apps provide, and may not always work.

To the extent permitted by law, KnackTack is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including the loss of content that expired or was deleted. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

8. Your rights under local law

Nothing in these terms or in the store's standard terms limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country, province or state where you live, such as the Australian Consumer Law, UK consumer law, Quebec's Consumer Protection Act, Brazil's Consumer Defense Code, Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law, Japan's Consumer Contract Act or Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, except where the law of the place you live requires otherwise. This does not take away any protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the place you live.

10. Language

These terms are available in several languages, linked at the top of this page. You may rely on any of these versions.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. KnackTack has no accounts, so we can't contact users individually.
